Parent Nights: A mandatory parent orientation night is held prior to the beginning of each school year. At least one parent from each family is expected to attend.
Subsequent educational events are then held during the year to address parenting topics and to help our families get the most for their student.
Parent Commitment: One of the great strengths of Montessori Academy is the dedication and involvement of our parent community and the Parent Community Organization (PCO). School staff and parents work closely together to provide the best possible educational experience for our students. Each family is required to contribute eight hours over the course of the school year to support the school. There are many opportunities to do this and parents can choose ones that match their interests and schedule. Below is a sampling of the activities parents can be a part of:
- Montessori Follies
- Fall/Spring Bake Sale/BBQ
- Campus Cleanup
- Parent Education
- Teacher Recognition
- Celebration and Auction
- Loyalty Day Parade
- Holiday Flower Sale
Supporting Your School: Providing and maintaining our high levels of academic excellence and our beautiful campus environment requires significant expense. As a not-for-profit, Montessori Academy works hard to keep tuition costs affordable and our programs accessible to as many children in our community as possible. As a result, tuition receipts do not cover all of the operating expenses of the school. We therefore count on our strong and supportive parent community to support us in various ways. Volunteering time is one; financial support from those able to do so is also important for the viability of the school. The PCO raises funds during the year that directly support teachers and their classrooms. The school itself holds only one fund raiser each year, an auction that takes place during the “Celebration” gala in the spring. This annual event is an opportunity for parents, friends, staff and alumni to enjoy a fun evening in support of the school’s mission.
